Alaska exceeded our expectations. Even our flight into Alaska was beautiful, where you could see the mountains come up over the clouds.
We held two workshops in Alaska at Skinny Raven and Skinny Raven Mini. The workshops were very interactive and lots of free ASICS swag was given away, including two pairs of ASICS shoes at each workshop!
While in Anchorage I trained at Anchorage Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Ryder is the instructor there and I would recommend the school to anyone in Anchorage looking for additional training.
After the workshops we were able to hit some of Alaska's great hiking and biking trails. We ran and biked the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and we even got the chance to climb Alyeska Mountain. It was a 2000 foot climb which the tram operator warned us to make noise for bears about half way up. I'm not sure Brazilian Jiu Jitsu works on bears and I certainly didn't want to find out!
Thank you to John Clark for letting us stay at his house and borrow his bikes. Also, thank you to everyone at Skinny Raven and Brandon from ASICS for making these workshops memorable and fun for everyone!
